The discussion facilitator will post highlights of the onsite discussion here for reaction and further discussion. The wiki will remain open so please use it as an ongoing resource!

Questions to get us started . . .

  • What on the topic of leading, managing, or facilitating change do you most want to take away from the conference to use immediately back on your job?

  • What, based upon your own experience, do you see as the greatest challenges to change implementation?

  • What is the most important action that organizational leaders and HRD professionals can do to facilitate change acceptance and build commitment throughout the organization?

To answer the question: What on the topic of leading, managing, or facilitating change do you most want to take away from the conference to use immediately back on your job? As an internal consultant who is usually not leading the change, I am most interested in how to facilitate the "want to" from the sidelines. Others seem to think if you say where we are is bad and where we are going is great that is enough. Then all I hear is complaining and resistance and I feel obligated to echo the leaders. I don't have access to the leaders or their materials.

I think in addition to what Lee Ann had to say, I'm interested in understanding more about the right role for the change faciliatator. How do we, as consultants, influence and help the change along when we aren't the ones setting the agenda.

Hi, Lee Ann and Matt. Many thanks for your comments, which I have read with interest. Through your remarks you have expressed some really challenging issues which we all have in common as consultants. Look forward to exploring these with you during the learning labs and to identifying some workable solutions..I look forward to meeting you
